Our Services
Appointment times are available daily for a variety of needs including Newborn Visits, Well Child Visits, Hospital Follow-ups, Behavior Consultations (including diagnosing and management of ADD/ADHD), Nutrition and Exercise Counseling, Asthma and Same Day Sick Visits. We have a co-management agreement with a behavioral health facility and we can refer to an outside behavior health professional if needed. Dental varnish is available at well child visits for our younger patients. We are equipped with an onsite lab offering multiple diagnostic tests. As part of our advanced care team we have a group of telephone triage nurses, including RN’s and LPN’s, who are available to speak to you as about the health of your child. Pediatric nurses are available via telephone to help with unexpected late evening or early morning issues when our office is closed. One of our physicians is always on call and the triage service has direct access to them if needed.
PRESCRIPTION REFILLS
Prescription refills may be requested via telephone or in the office. Prescription refills may be requested by 3:00pm daily (Monday – Friday) to be available by 10:00am the next weekday morning (in most cases). Please note: prescription refill requests for ADD/ADHD medication require at least 3 days advanced notice (due to the fact that the attending physician must provide the refill prescription). Prescription refill requests will not be addressed outside of regular business hours. You can also request prescription refills through the portal.
WELL CHILD EXAMS
Routine appointments generally follow the recommended immunization schedule: newborn, 2-months, 4-months, 6-months, 9-months, 12-months, 15-months. Toddlers return at 18-months and 2-years. Children age 3 and older are seen yearly. Interperiodic and sports physicals are also available in our health maintenance scheduling.
AFTER HOURS NURSING ASSISTANCE
Mountain Area Pediatrics representatives are available 24 hours/day – everyday. We make every effort to be available to meet the medical needs of your child(ren). In an effort to assist you even when we are closed, please feel free to utilize our nursing telephone triage service. Click on the link below to complete the form and a triage nurse will return your call. If you prefer to call and leave a message, the contact information for the triage service is readily available by contacting our office at 828-254-4337 anytime the office is closed or by calling the nursing triage service at 828.229.7234. APPOINTMENT AVAILABILITY
We make every effort to accomodate your request(s) for appointments during specific time frames. Please be aware that all of our patients are pediatric patients. It is typically not possible to accomodate a request for appointment times outside of “school hours” – especially for routine visits.
