• If your child is turning 1 year old, 4 years old, or 11 years old, please schedule after their birthday to ensure vaccines can be provided.

TYPES OF APPOINTMENTS

Prenatal Consultation appointments are available by request. These are informal meetings with our physicians. This appointment offers the perfect opportunity to ask questions, meet our staff and experience the office atmosphere. We are pleased to offer this initial consultation appointment at no cost to you.

Routine appointments are available upon request and generally follow the recommended immunization schedule: newborn, 2-weeks, 2-months, 4-months, 6-months, 9-months, 12-months. Toddlers return at 15-months, 18-months and 2-years. Children age 3 and older are seen yearly. Interperiodic and sports physicals are also available in our health maintenance scheduling.

Same day sick appointments are available to address acute illnesses. Same day sick appointments are made during office hours beginning at 8:30am Monday through Friday. We make every effort to schedule these visits with your primary physician; however, we have full confidence that any of our physicians will be able to appropriately address your child’s acute medical needs should your primary physician be unavailable at the time a sick visit is warranted. As part of our advanced care team we have a group of telephone triage nurses, including RN’s and LPN’s, who will help patient representatives assess the acuity of their child’s illness and offer appointment times as clinically indicated.

Acute care appointments are available outside of regular business hours. Our telephone nurses are available to assist you with advice/coaching (via telephone) or for scheduling appointment times typically after our regular business hours. Please note that the physician on call is responsible for determining when the office will close each day (based on patient need). Please note: there is an additional charge for this visit.
On Saturday and Sunday our telephone triage nurse will be available at 8:30 am to assist you with advice/coaching (via telephone) or scheduling a sick visit appointment for the same day if warranted. The physician on call will determine when the office will close (based on patient need). Please note: there is an additional charge for this visit.

Holiday hours apply in accordance with weekend hours. A holiday schedule is typically observed on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving Day. The hours of operation on these holidays will be in accordance with Saturday / Sunday hours. Please note: there is an additional charge for this visit. Mountain Area Pediatric Associates, P.A. is closed on Christmas Day.

Appointment times are available to address issues that are not related to well care or acute care visits specifically. “Pre-scheduled” appointment times are available for hospital follow-ups, behavior consultations (ex. ADD/ADHD) or to address management of various chronic medical issues. We have a co-management relationship with outside behavior health facilities and can refer to behavior health professionals if needed. We are fortunate to have a well equipped laboratory that allows us to complete multiple diagnostic tests on site.
